As a family business, we believe we have the opportunity to leave a positive footprint wherever we may be. Therefore, we at Grefusa strive to enhance and improve the lives of our employees and consumers, our environment and our community.
The 4 pillars
Our sustainability strategy is based on 4 pillars or axes we regard as key, and on which we work on a continuous basis to generate value and a positive impact: Environment, Consumers, People and Community.
1. Environment
We leave a positive footprint in our environment
We implement solutions based on innovation in order to reduce our environmental impact. We focus our efforts on reducing both CO2 emissions and energy consumption, on a commitment to clean energy and on the use of sustainable containers and packaging.
These are our main milestones:
- 100% recyclable flexible packaging by 2025.
- A 20% reduction in energy consumption by 2023.
- Reduced water consumption.
- 100% FSC-certified sustainable sources in cardboard packaging.
2. Consumers
We leave a positive footprint at our consumers
The reduction of salt in snacks, information on allergens and the continuous nutritional improvement of products and food prepared without palm oil are goals that Grefusa has already met and that have a positive impact on the health and well-being of our consumers.
These are our main milestones:
- Palm oil-free since 2002.
- Reduction in allergens.
- Reduction in sodium.
3. People
We leave a positive footprint on our workforce
Our commitment is based on enjoying what we do, or in other words, ensuring an ideal organisational environment, promoting equal opportunities and investing in talent and continuous training. Enjoyment is our essence, and only then can we produce the best food for our consumers to enjoy.
These are our main milestones:
- A commitment to obtaining Responsible Family Business certification in order to promote measures of conciliation and equality, as defined in our Equality Plan.
- Work Satisfaction Survey as the basis of the company´s policies on listening to employees and the continuous improvement of the work environment.
- The promotion of policies geared to facilitating and promoting the well-being of our Employees.
- Investment in talent through the Grefutalent programme.
4. Community
We leave a positive footprint in our community
These are our main milestones:
- Collaboration with the Food Bank and the Alimentum Foundation.
- Collaboration with the Red Cross in programmes to support the most disadvantaged children.
- Preparation, monitoring and compliance by our suppliers and associates with our Code of Conduct and good practices.
- School workshops for the promotion of healthy eating.
